Why Vancouver keeps calling us back
Why Vancouver Chooses Everest Locksmith
- A licence you can check before we arrive Our BC security worker licence number is #B7554. Verify it with the province while you are still on the phone to us.
- One price list for the whole city Downtown, Kitsilano, Mount Pleasant or East Van, the rate is the same and the number on the invoice matches the number quoted on the call.
- Non-destructive entry first Vancouver housing stock runs from 1920s fir doors to new tower hardware, and almost all of it picks. We drill only when a cylinder has already failed, and we say so before we start.
- One-year warranty, and we come back Full parts and labour coverage for 365 days. Wet Vancouver winters swell doors and bind strikes; if that happens to something we fitted, we return and correct it free.

Locksmith in Vancouver
Locksmith Services in Vancouver
Everest Locksmith is a mobile, BC-licensed locksmith covering every Vancouver neighbourhood 24 hours a day. Emergency lockouts start at $89, rekeying at $25 per cylinder and car keys at $180, and the total is quoted on the phone before a technician leaves for your address.
Vancouver is not one market, it is a dozen. A Coal Harbour tower, a Kitsilano character house, a Mount Pleasant warehouse conversion and a Renfrew bungalow with a basement suite all fail in different ways and need different hardware. Pricing is identical across all of them; the approach is not.
Everything happens from the van, at your door. Keys are cut and cylinders re-pinned on site, so there is nothing to drop off and nothing to collect, and the overwhelming majority of Vancouver calls are finished in one visit.

The Buildings and Locks We See in Vancouver
The job changes with the postcode. Everest Locksmith works across Downtown, Coal Harbour, Yaletown, the West End, Kitsilano, Point Grey, Mount Pleasant, Commercial Drive, Renfrew, Hastings-Sunrise, Marpole and Dunbar, and each has a failure pattern we see over and over.
- Downtown, Coal Harbour and Yaletown — standard Grade 2 suite cylinders that open quickly; the slow part is lobby access through a concierge
- West End — older walk-ups with shared entries, worn cylinders and a long history of keys nobody can account for
- Kitsilano and Point Grey — original fir and mahogany doors where the hardware is fine and the cost of getting it wrong is a split panel
- Mount Pleasant and Main Street — brick warehouse conversions and storefronts with rear lane doors that take the most break-in attempts in the city
- East Vancouver, Commercial Drive and Renfrew — character houses with basement suites, three or four exterior doors and a side entry nobody thinks about
- Marpole, Dunbar and Kerrisdale — post-war houses where wet winters swell wooden doors until the deadbolt will not throw at all
That last one is worth naming, because it costs Vancouver homeowners money every winter. A deadbolt that will not throw is usually a door that has swollen and is binding on the strike, not a lock that has died. It is an alignment fix and we correct it on site rather than selling hardware that was never broken.

Getting to your door
Getting to You Across Vancouver
Everest Locksmith dispatches into Vancouver around the clock and gives you a firm ETA on the call rather than a vague promise. What actually decides how fast a technician reaches your door in this city is rarely distance. It is the building. Five things worth knowing before you call.
- Tell us the building type first. A house, a low-rise and a 30-storey tower are three different arrival problems, and knowing which one you are saves the technician circling the block.
- Arrange lobby access if you are in a tower. Downtown and Yaletown buildings will not let a technician past the concierge without a resident, and that wait is the single biggest delay in the city.
- Say if the car is in an underground parkade. Programming equipment can lose signal below grade, and the car may need to come up to the ramp — a two-minute problem if known in advance.
- Give us a cross street, not just an address. Vancouver has repeating street names across the East and West sides, and a cross street removes the ambiguity entirely.
- Have your ID ready, or tell us it is locked inside. Either is fine, but it is a conversation to have on the phone rather than on the doorstep.
Coverage runs to the city limits and past them. Everest also works Burnaby, the North Shore, Richmond and New Westminster, so a job that starts in East Van and ends in Metrotown is one call, not two companies.

What Our Customers Say
Recent reviews from across Vancouver and Metro Vancouver
Locked myself out at about 11pm and someone was at my door quickly. He showed me his licence before he started, quoted $145 on the phone and that is exactly what I paid. Picked it open, no damage to the lock or the door at all.
We manage a 40-unit strata and Everest rekeyed all the common areas onto a restricted keyway. Worked evenings so residents were not disrupted, handed us an actual key register at the end, and invoiced our management company directly. Very easy to deal with.
Lost the only key to my car. Dealership wanted to tow it and quoted over $600 with a four day wait. Everest came to the parking lot, cut and programmed a new smart key on the spot for $260. Took about 40 minutes.
Had every exterior door rekeyed the day we took possession. Four doors all keyed to one key, which I did not know was even an option. Quoted per cylinder up front, arrived when they said, done in just over an hour.
